Training Programmes

CCAV currently offers Members and non-members the following training programmes.

• Exhumation - An Introduction
• GRAVESAFE
• Grave Shoring - 'A Practical Hands-On Workshop'

The CCAV training programmes are facilitated by Ian and Ann Aitken, Directors of TABS. Since 1992 TABS has worked with 60 cemeteries in Victoria and interstate on identifying risks and documenting safe work methods. They have a breadth of knowledge and experience of both safe and unsafe work practices and can provide pictorial and verbal information to support their experiences. Following each training programme TABS offer participants to contact them for free further advice should they require it.

Ian has spoken on safe cemetery work places to conferences held by ACCA, CCAV, CCANSW, QCCA and the AFDA in three states. One of their publications has won a WorkCover award and they recently completed the nationwide From 'Bookings to Backfill' joint ACCA and AFDA project.
